What is COVID-19?
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses which can make humans and animals sick. Some coronaviruses can cause illnesses similar to the common cold. Others can cause more serious illnesses, including Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). COVID-19 was first detected in Wuhan, China. It is called a “novel” virus because it has never been detected before this outbreak. Though this viral pathogen is known to spread mostly through respiratory droplets (like mucus or saliva) from person to person, and touching or shaking hands with a person who is infectious. There is also evidence that transmission can also happen by touching infected surfaces. These include door knobs, handles, light switches, remote controls, and even iPhone screens. A new study suggests that the virus thrives on plastic or steel surfaces for days.
Disinfection and Cleaning Process
Cleaning is one thing, and routine, ongoing maintenance certainly helps, but complete professional disinfection is much more involved. We have established protocols to provide the most effective service available. Our professional team has developed a comprehensive process which begins with an analysis of the contamination, followed by planning the necessary site procedures. Our highly trained technicians come prepared with years of viral hazard cleanup knowledge, fully encapsulated personal protective equipment (PPE), and EPA-registered disinfectants. The process typically involves sealing off the affected area and installing air cleansing equipment before starting the decontamination. Infected surfaces are physically sanitized and Foggers are utilized to decontaminate entire rooms.
If you have questions or concerns, we continue to be open and available. Our staff can help verify if our services are needed. To be clear, a complete disinfection isn’t strictly necessary for homes or businesses without a known or even suspected case of the coronavirus.
